Proton will enter all remaining events of the 2009 IRC calendar with Guy Wilks behind the wheel. The Malaysian manufacturer, which earlier ths year registered for the Eurosport Events backed championship, will make it's debut on the Ypres Westhoek Rally next week and Wilks will go on to compete for the rest of the season, going head-to-head with countryman and IRC points leader Kris Meeke.
MEM team boss Chris Mellors told Autosport.com: "The IRC programme is fantastic news," said Mellors. "Everybody is behind this project, behind the team and behind Guy and Phil. Proton is funding the rest of the season."

The Satria Neo S2000 also put up a stunning performance on WRC Rally Ireland earlier this year and it will be interesting to see how they compare to the IRC big boys next weekend!
